How Much of What?

If you do not believe that
Jesus is God, you are cheating if you insist that 1+1 is 2.

By what do you measure?
Because no measurements are exact, no calculations can be. All measurements are
approximations.
The
only true foot is in the Bureau of Weights and Measurements in Washington D.C.,
I understand. It's length is not defined. It is a platinum rod at standard
conditions I understand. Definition by illustration. An inch is 1/12 of that
rod; but then no matter how exact your measure you still only have
approximations of 1/12 the length of that rod. You may say, well a foot is the
length light travels in a certain time. But you are still stuck with trying the
measure time, and assuming that light's travel is a constant. Everything in
creation is relative to something else. Only God, who is Uncreated, is free
from time and space, i.e. infinite.
The square root of 3 can only be expressed in an approximation, for instance.
Also the constants e and pi.
You say, "A yard is three feet long." Three of whose feet? What foot
are we talking about?

How do you measure?
If you are a carpenter it is not nearly as important to have accurate measures
as it is if you are an auto mechanic or even less so than if you are a brain
surgeon. Missing by a yard on a moon shot might not be as critical as missing
by a yard at a shot of a fine buck. Being close is important in horseshoes; not
as important with a hydrogen bomb. Arithmetic is useless without accurate
measurements: 1+1=2 asserts what? "One of what plus one of what equals two
of what?" Does one ________ plus one Bud Powell equal two of Kobe Bryant?
Not in basketball, but the balance may shift in theology.
When Jesus said, "I am the truth," it is not the same as if He had
said, "I am true." The second is a claim to meet a standard. The
first is a claim to BE the standard. Not the same thing at all. The standard or
all things is Jesus Christ, the eternal word of God.
Micah 6:10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the
wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? 11 Shall I count them pure
with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? 12 For the
rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken
lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
Eph. 2:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted
and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the
breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ,
which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Pr 16:11 A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag
are his work.
Blind leading the blind.
