Be Still, and Listen

If you make too much noise,
you will not hear the Shepherd's voice.
Habakkuk 2:19-20 "Woe unto him that saith to
the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid
over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before
him."

People have to speak a lot and make a lot of noise in the temples of dumb
idols. Their gods cannot say anything, so the people have to pretend. They shout
and holler but there is no breath in their gods.
When God is in His holy temple, you better shut up and listen. If He isn't
there it doesn't matter how much noise you make. But you might feel good for a
while.
What God has to say is far more relevant than what you and I have to say.
Ps 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the
heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
