No Babies in David’s
Kingdom?? Now that Christ Reigns.

Please let me in!
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy
mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty
of his kingdom.
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout
all generations.
--From Psalm 145.
Did Peter have this passage in mind on the Day of Pentecost?
"32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the
Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see
and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD
said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made
that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto
Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar
off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. --Acts 2
Jesus sits on the throne of David and rules his kingdom forever and ever,
fulfilling the promise that was made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, reconfirmed
by Peter and explained further in Paul's prayer for the church:
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of
your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us–ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ,
when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the
heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and
dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in
that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him
to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness
of him that filleth all in all.
Ephesians 1.
Paul clearly left all babies out of this prayer, of course. No they must become
adults first to exercise their wills, or Christ has no kingdom.
To deny baptism to our children is to reduce the kingdom of God to the assent
of elite adults and is a direct violation of prophecy and the promise of the
kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, who saves us precisely because He has sent
His Holy Spirit to take us by the hand and lead us to glory. The kingdom of
Christ is the kingdom of the Spirit and its sign and seal is baptism of all its
subjects.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint–heirs with Christ; if
so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we
should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the
image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called,
them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against
us?
But of course. We are supposed to think that the Lord Jesus came to kick the
babies out of David's kingdom. David's kingdom comes later, and Peter didn't
know what he was talking about. What is this throne He sits on? Oh, I know. He
doesn't, and won't until He comes to start a 1000 years reign in Jerusalem. He
is in heaven wishfully hopeful that people would be nice to Him.
Maybe He will have time for the babies then, between smacking the nations with
that rod of iron and supervising the rebuilding of the temple on the Temple
mount. I expect there to be trouble over who gets to worship in that temple,
what with the Jews wanting to bring their children, and the baptists refusing
to let them in. Of course there is also that Islam problem, but they don't care
much about their children, either, sending them to blow up Jews with bombs and
stuff. Of course God can just blow them out into the Red Sea if they get to be
too much of a problem, like He did the locusts in Exodus 10.
Hey, don't blame me. I didn't make it absurd. I just pointed it out. Don't kill
the messenger.
