Ps
119:130 "The entrance of thy words giveth light;
it giveth understanding unto the simple."

I do not question that natural revelation comes with authority;
but it does not come with the clarity of Scripture. Left alone, all natural
revelation can do is present a caricature of God's eternal power and Godhead.
Scripture corrects our views of nature; it is dangerous to seek to
"correct" Scripture from nature.
In addition to seeking the truth of Scripture, we must pray
for illumination by the Holy Spirit, for otherwise our sinful hearts will lead
us astray and the Scriptures will become to us a maze of contradiction and
confusion. "Who can understand his errors," prayed the
Psalmist.
When men start with nature and scientific labor, and ignore
the light of Scripture, they wander in impenetrable darkness, resulting in
agnosticism or idolatry, for their desire for knowledge is frustrated and their
desire for worship becomes fixated on creation.
Carl Sagan illustrated the latter when he said that if you
must worship something, worship the stars.
Ec 8:17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot
find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labor to
seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to
know it, yet shall he not be able to find it
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand
that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen
were not made of things which do appear.
