Is the Assignment Clear?

I am thinking that if
God loves us, which seems to be because of this beautiful and well-appointed
world, then wouldn't He have made it clear what we are to believe and how we should
treat each other? Wouldn't it somehow be our fault if we didn't "get"
it?
I know in teaching, students have an excuse if the assignment isn't clear. I
also know that some students find excuses no matter how clear it is. I know I
have.
